Person County Manager Katherine M. Cathey signed a non-binding MOU following the board’s discussion to purchase the property.
February 5, 2024
Board of Commissioners Meeting
Person County Board of Commissioners (BOC) unanimously approves the purchase of the Carolina Pride Carwash Building.
April 30, 2024
Due Diligence Period Ends
Person County will conduct the necessary studies and prepare paperwork during the due diligence period prior to meeting with the Local Government Commission (LGC).
May 1, 2024
Lease Payments
Lease payments will begin for Person County on the Carolina Pride Carwash building and will be withheld from the $100,000 deposit if the LGC does not approve the issuance of debt.
If LGC approves the debt, the deposit will be applied to the purchase in its entirety (100%).
June 2024
Person County Board of Commissioners Public Hearing
The public hearing time and date have not been set.
Local Government Commission
The earliest the County will be able to get approval from the LGC will be at their June meeting. TBD.
August 31, 2024
