THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT
When you visit piedmontcc.edu, the following information is collected automatically:

WE COLLECT THIS INFORMATION THROUGH
Piedmont Community College follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
COOKIES AND WEB BEACONS
Like any other website, Piedmont Community College uses ‘cookies’. These cookies are used to store information including visitors’ preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users’ experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors’ browser type and/or other information.
Google Analytics is used to monitor how users are accessing pages and their activity around the website. This does not include personal information but does report on things like city location, browsers, and platforms used, and demographic information from users’ Google profiles such as gender, age bracket, interests, etc.
Facebook tracking pixels are used to collect data on the website to later be used for Facebook and Instagram advertising.

- Personal information provided voluntarily is used to get in contact with you and send you communications about the College’s programs and upcoming events.

Personal information is kept for as long the purpose for which they were collected calls for — taking into account intention and applicable legal requirements.
We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity. Our website was not created for use by children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
Piedmont Community College limits employee access to personally identifiable information from this website to only those employees who need access to perform a specific job. The College has instituted security measures to protect the information and systems that it maintains. These measures are designed to ensure that this service remains available to all users by blocking unauthorized access to our systems and preventing the corruption of data, thus providing reasonable protection of personal information in our possession. In addition, Piedmont Community College employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to change information or otherwise cause damage.

The College does not disclose any personal information except when: permission has been
granted by the individual; when it is not otherwise protected from disclosure by applicable Federal or State laws; or we are required to do so by law, subpoena, court order or legal process.
