Some would say a career that truly helps others consistently is noble. To play a part caring for patients and potentially saving lives is generous and humble. If you are interested in a healthcare career and want to take the next step and earn your Associate Degree Nursing (ADN), Piedmont Community College (PCC) is ready to help and preparing for the next round of Kaplan Nursing Admissions Tests (KNAT).

There are ten total opportunities for Nursing hopefuls to take the KNAT, which the ADN Program at PCC uses to help select candidates for the upcoming Nursing Class. This round of KNATs is held for students hoping to claim a spot in the on the Person County Campus starting in August 2022. But the test cannot be taken until a student finishes Phase I of the nursing admissions process.

The dates for potential nursing students to take the KNAT are:

  • December 3 at 9 a.m.
  • December 10 at 1 p.m.
  • January 14 at 9 a.m.
  • January 22 at 1 p.m.
  • January 28 at 1 p.m.
  • February 4 at 9 a.m.
  • February 11 at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
  • February 18 at 9 a.m.
  • February 19 at 9 a.m.
  • February 25 at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

All of the tests will be taken on the Person County Campus, students are only allowed to test once per academic year, and those who score 67% or higher are given priority over those who score lower.

Darrick Woods, PCC’s Director of Nursing, said this is an exciting time for potential students and PCC’s Nursing instructors, but the KNATs must be taken seriously. He said they are a vital part for any student looking to pursue a career as a nurse.

“We are always thrilled to meet our next group of students looking to bring compassion and service to the world and their community,” Darrick Woods, PCC’s Director of Nursing, said. “But the first step is completing the KNAT to guarantee incoming students are prepared to take on the challenge they will face as a nursing student, and eventually as a nurse while taking care of patients; some, potentially, in life threatening situations.”

It is the student’s responsibility to complete the application and schedule a date to take the KNAT. To reserve a date and time to take the KNAT, students must first consult with a Nursing Advisor to ensure their eligibility. Once approved, they must complete the KNAT application and pay the $25 testing fee. After the test is completed, students will wait for their final score to see if an offer is extended to join PCC’s Nursing Program in the Fall of 2022.
