BLENDED: A combination of Face-to-Face and Online (less than 50% online). Stay motivated and stay in communication with your instructor!

This course places emphasis on:

  • Ethics;
  • Legalities;
  • Medical terminology;
  • Safety and universal precautions;
  • Healthcare delivery systems;
  • Patient relations;
  • Anatomy and physiology;
  • Specimen collection.

  1. Registration fee – $583.20*
    Registration includes the following charges:
    $9 Accident & Malpractice Insurance
    $55 Lab & Technology Fee
    $15 BLS CPR Card
    $126.20 Verified Credentials
    $75 NHA Online Study Materials
    $125 NHA CPT Exam fee

    This is a noncredit certificate course, and it does not qualify for financial aid or payment plans. Scholarships may be available for qualifying students residing in NC. Information on funding options will be sent via email with payment instructions. Students are also encouraged to contact their local NC Works or Telamon Corporation Office.
  2. Textbook: Phlebotomy Worktext and Procedures Manual, 5th Edition, ISBN# 9780323642668;
    Students may use the free eBook provided in the course, purchase a hard copy online (ex. Amazon), or from the PCC Bookstore ( www.pccstore.com, course number is PBT-3022, $110.75).
  3. Uniform: Red scrubs (2-3 sets recommended), black leather closed toe closed heel shoes, and black socks are required for lab and clinical days.
  4. Verified Credentials – Criminal Background Check and Urine Drug Screen (included in registration fee).
  5. The following immunizations are required.
    • Hepatitis B (series of 3 doses or a Titers blood test)
    • Influenza
    • MMR (series of 2 doses or a Titers blood test)
    • Tdap
    • Tuberculous
    • Varicella (Chicken Pox) (series of 2 doses or a Titers blood test)
    • COVID Vaccination (waivers are not accepted)
  6. National Healthcareers Association Certification exam – (included in registration fee)
  7. NHA Online Practice Exam & Study Guide (included in registration fee)

Prerequisites: High school diploma or GED Equivalency. Students who do not currently meet this requirement but will be able to do so within twelve months of the exam date may be eligible for a Provisional Certification. Click here for more information.

REGISTRATION

  1. Review the available classes. You will need the course section number, start and end dates, title, and location. This can all be located above in the schedule.
  2. Online registration is required,  click here to submit your registration form.

    Once received, you will receive an email with payment instructions within 48 business hours of submission. Payment must be received within 72 hours of submitting the registration form. If payment has not been received, your registration will be voided and you will have to re-submit.


CLASS WITHDRAWAL/TRANSFER POLICY:  

Students may withdraw and receive:

  • 100% refund if REQUESTED prior to the course beginning or course cancellation
  • 75% refund if REQUESTED before the 10% point of the total course meetings
