Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers

Individuals who are currently employed or are seeking employment in the health care industry must complete a Health Care Provider CPR course. This American Heart Association course fulfills the CPR course requirement.

Basic Life Support (BLS) is the foundation for saving lives. It is designed for healthcare providers and trained first responders who provide care to patients in a wide variety of settings or by those in a healthcare training program.

  1. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for this course by calling 336-322-2131
  2. You must provide your email address when you call or come to the campus. We will email you important information about the course!
  3. Complete the BLS Instructor Essentials Course; this can be found at (there is a $34 fee for this course) (you must have your course completion certificate sent to Amy Newton prior to start of class.
  4. Complete an Instructor Candidate Application –
    • Email and request this form. Forward signed application to Amy Newton(This form must be completed by the TCF/Coordinator/Instructor that is recommending you to become an instructor). 
    • Anyone taking the course that will not be aligning with RCC’s TC will need to have the affiliating TC fill out the TC Alignment section.  If this is not completed, candidate will not be able to take the class.
    • Once the form is completed, email the form to Amy Newton.
  5. Hold a current AHA BLS provider certification – E-mail Amy Newton a copy of your current BLS card.
  6. A valid state ID or driver’s license is required.
