Microsoft Office Specialist: Excel Associate (scholarships available)

This certification demonstrates competency in the fundamentals of creating and managing worksheets and workbooks, creating cells and ranges, creating tables, applying formulas and functions, and creating charts and objects.

Networking Technology – CompTIA A+ Certification (scholarships available)

CompTIA A+ is the industry standard for establishing a career in IT and the preferred qualifying credential for technical support and IT operational roles. It is the only industry-recognized credential with performance-based items to prove pros can think on their feet to perform critical IT support tasks in the moment.

ADVANCED MANUFACTURING & CONSTRUCTION

HVAC – Electrical (scholarship available)

This course focuses on troubleshooting, installation, and service techniques using Volt-Ohm meters, wiring diagrams, schematics, safety procedures, and effective customer service. Students will earn the ESCO Ready to Work HVAC-Electrical certification.

Certified Logistics Technician (scholarships available)

Earn four credentials: Certified Logistics Associate, mid-level Certified Logistics Technician, OSHA 10, and OSHA forklift. Course graduates have the opportunity to interview with local employers looking to hire! 

Certified Production Technician (scholarships available)

Gain training in industry-recognized credential designed by the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council. The course offers certificates in four areas: safety awareness, manufacturing processes, quality practices, and maintenance awareness. 

HEALTH CARE

Nurse Aid (scholarship available)

Prepare to work under the supervision of licensed nursing professionals while performing nursing care and services for persons of all ages. Topics include growth and development, personal care, vital signs, communication, nutrition, therapeutic activities, family resources and services, and employment skills. Upon completion, you may be eligible for listing as a Nurse Aide I

Medication Tech for Unlicensed Personnel

This program prepares unlicensed personnel to take the North Carolina Adult Care Medication Test that enables them to give medications in adult care homes, assisted living facilities and group homes.

Medical Coding and Billing (Part I & II) (scholarships available)

This online medical coding and billing program trains you in the specialized skills needed to assign the standardized codes used to bill for healthcare services. This course is delivered in two parts.

Medical Administrative Assistant (scholarships available)

Prepare to pass the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam with this quality online education that offers one-on-one support from dedicated instructors

EMT Initial

This course provides the basic knowledge and skills needed to deliver Basic Life Support (BLS) care and is required to progress on to more advanced levels of prehospital patient care.

Manicure/Nail Technology

This course covers techniques of nail technology, hand and arm massage, and recognition of nail disease and disorders. Upon completion, students should be able to safely and competently perform nail care, including manicures, pedicures, massage decorating, and artificial applications in a salon setting.

Cosmetology Instructor Training Part I

Gain cosmetology instructional concepts, supervisory and instructional skills for teaching entry-level to advance cosmetology students in a classroom and laboratory setting.

Small Engine Repair

This course is designed to provide the student with hands-on knowledge of engine rebuilding techniques to manufacturer’s specifications. The student will learn how to completely disassemble engines and check for manufacturer’s specifications and reassemble. Emphasis will be placed on the proper use of special tools and testing equipment.

Gunsmith Took Making

Gain skills in the areas of refurbishing metal and wood into firearms, manufacturing gunsmithing tools, diagnosing malfunctions for repairs in guns, and more!

Concealed Carry – offered monthly

Ready to get a concealed carry permit? This class is required prior to applying for you permit through their local sheriff’s department.

Defensive Driving – offered monthly

This National Safety Council’s Defensive Driving course allows qualified drivers the chance to earn a reduction on a traffic infraction upon completion.

Using Technology for Today’s Job Search

Learn how to best use technology in your job search activities. This includes tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, webcams, etc.

Employability Lab

This open lab provides employability skills training for unemployed and underemployed adults. Receive career counseling to make appropriate decisions about careers preferences, assessment of current skill levels related to their career choice, and training in the skill area in which remediation is needed. A formal assessment will determine skill appropriateness and identify employment opportunities.
