The highest award in scouting was presented during the October 9 morning worship service at Bethesda Presbyterian Church to Benjamin Graham Satterfield, Parker Bruce Ellis, and Guy Pearson Goots, members of Scout Troop 338.
Benjamin, the son of John and Jennifer Satterfield, is a 2022 graduate of Bartlett Yancey Senior High and attends Piedmont Community College. Ben is an Ordeal Member of the Order of the Arrow. He earned 32 merit badges and served as patrol leader, senior patrol leader and chaplain’s aide. His Eagle Scout project was the construction of handicapped parking spaces at Bethesda Presbyterian Church.
Parker, the son of Shane and Annie Ellis, is in the 10th grade at Rockingham County Early College High School. Parker is an Ordeal Member of the Order of the Arrow. He earned 26 merit badges, completed the Mile swim, and earned the Paul Bunyan Award and Arrow of Light. Parker participates in high school soccer, basketball, and baseball as well as travel soccer. His Eagle Scout project was the design and assembly of three media entertainment carts for disadvantaged youth.
Guy, the son of B.J. and Rachel Goots, is a 2022 graduate of Rockingham County High School and attends NC State University. Guy is an Ordeal Member of the Order of the Arrow. He earned 32 merit badges and served as senior patrol leader. Guy is a graduate of the BSA National Youth Leadership Training course. His Eagle Scout project was the construction of a flagpole at Bethesda Presbyterian Church.
