These courses vary from programs to start a new career, to earn certification to boost a current career, or free programs to make sure job searchers are on the right track. ADVANCED MANUFACTURING & CONSTRUCTION:

Certified Logistics Technician

Earn four credentials: Certified Logistics Associate, a mid-level Certified Logistics Technician, OSHA 10, and OSHA forklift. Class graduates can interview with local employers looking to hire!

HEALTHCARE:

Phlebotomy Technician

Gain skills in theory and clinical experiences in the proper collection of blood and other specimens used for diagnostic testing. When you complete this program, you should be able to safely perform procedures necessary for specimen collections on patents in various healthcare settings and may be eligible for national certification as a phlebotomy technician.

  • $198 registration fee + textbook, online study materials, and National board exam fees (scholarship funding available)

Medical Administrative Assistant

Prepare to pass the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam with this quality online education that offers one-on-one support from dedicated instructors

EMT Online (Continuing Education): Safety/Crew Resource Management

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) online Con Ed program is designed to continue emergency medical training at a basic level.  Courses can be used to maintain First Responder, EMR, and EMT certifications.  These courses will also be available at your local fire department/ rescue squad.

CAREER ADVANCEMENT & PERSONAL ENRICHMENT:

Food Service Sanitation/Safety – ServSafe Recertification Course

ServSafe® is a nationally recognized food safety and sanitation training program. It is designed for experienced food service employees and managers who need to comply with local and state health department requirements for food manager/food handler certification or recertification.

Truck Driver Training

Be on your way to a new career v. Just think – only five weeks to a new, good-paying career!

  • $3,222 registration fee (scholarship funding available)

    • Online; July 14 – July 28

Notary Public Education – offered monthly

The Notary Public course covers information for you to be able to apply for North Carolina Notary Public commissions. Participants must be at least 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and speak and write English.

Ed2Go

Online, 6-week classes with LIVE instructors offered monthly – that’s Ed2Go! Did we mention there are more than 100 courses available, and they begin at only $70 per course?

FREE PROGRAMS:

Employability Lab

This open lab provides employability skills training for unemployed and underemployed adults. Receive career counseling to make appropriate decisions about career preferences, assessment of current skill levels related to their career choice, and training in the skill area in which remediation is needed. A formal assessment will determine skill appropriateness and identify employment opportunities.
