Patsy Stanley has been in law enforcement for over 20 years. She began her career as a Detention Officer in 2001 and within a year became a Sheriff’s Deputy.  In 2008, she began teaching online law enforcement courses for Richmond Community College. In 2011, she began working part-time as a patrol officer to pursue her career in teaching. She continues to serve as a part-time Patrol Officer with her local police department. 

Patsy holds a Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration in Criminal Justice, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from UNC Pembroke.  She has obtained her Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Certificates for Law Enforcement and Detention from the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association.  She holds certifications in Criminal Investigations, Death Investigations, and Network Forensics from the North Carolina Justice Academy.
