New scholarships available for PCC Students who apply this month

The Piedmont Community College (PCC) Foundation is proud to announce the creation of two new scholarships by Piedmont Electric Helping Hand Foundation for students attending PCC this fall. Students can apply for these new scholarships, as well as many others, from June 1 – 29 by completing the online application available at www.piedmontcc.edu/scholarship.

Free short-term camps for rising 9-12 grade students available at PCC this summer

Piedmont Community College (PCC) invites high school students to participate in free, hands-on summer activities this year to help them learn about various programs of study and career options! Those participating will discover the world of welding, health sciences, cosmetology, animation, film and video, mechatronics, and criminal justice through interactive experiences with PCC faculty while on the college campuses.

Students travel from across the state to hear PCC speaker in 2-day seminar

Bob Page, internationally known speaker, instructor, author, and paramedic, recently shared his knowledge at Piedmont Community College in a two-day seminar, his only scheduled seminar in North Carolina this year. During the event, Page worked with students from as far as Tennessee, teaching his Multi-Lead Medics 12 Lead course and Capnography course.

Based on current weather reports for this week, the location of Piedmont Community College’s 2018 Commencement Ceremony will be held in the Person High School Gymnasium

Doors will be open for seating at 6 p.m. Graduates participating in the ceremony should arrive by 6:30 p.m. The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m.

Brianna Wrenn wins first place in competition at 53rd Annual SkillsUSA North Carolina Leadership and Skills Conference

Piedmont Community College Career and College Promise student Brianna Wrenn earned first place in the Skills USA Hair Color Contest during the recent Leadership and Skills Conference. The 53rd annual conference was held at the Koury Convention Center and the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, NC in April.
