Basic Life Support Instructor course offered at PCC on February 28

The purpose of the American Red Cross BLS Instructor course is to train instructor candidates to teach the basic-level American Red Cross Basic Life Support course. Basic Life Support Instructor candidates must possess a current basic-level certification in Basic Life Support or equivalent. PCC continuing education students awarded scholarships from State Employees Credit Union

SECU scholarships are designed to help meet the needs of North Carolina’s unemployed and underemployed citizens by providing short-term job training for new careers or retraining. Funds are available for Phlebotomy Technician, Cardiovascular Technician, EMT, Certified Logistic Technician (CLT), Certified Production Technician (CPT), Advanced Manufacturing/Siemens Level I, HVAC Heating, and HVAC Air Conditioning.

High school students meet with local industry and learn about free training at PCC that will help them get employed

PCC's High School Career and College Promise Coach McKenzie Hedrick hosted a Certified Logistics Technician Day at Bartlett Yancey High School where local industry reps showcased their products and working environment to students. Participants learned the benefits of enrolling in PCC’s free Certified Logistics Technician training while in high school. The main message from employers: we are hiring people with skills learned from the CLT training program.
