PCC Foundation names Excellence Awards winners

Four Piedmont Community College instructors and two PCC staff members were named recipients of the PCC Foundation’s Excellence Awards during PCC’s annual convocation activities on Tuesday, Aug. 11. This is the 17th year the PCC Foundation has presented the Excellence Awards.

The work of two PCC students displayed at an International Computer Graphics Conference this month

Piedmont Community College students Micah Yarber and Patrick McCoy were asked to display six pieces of artwork created in their Digital Effects and Animation Technology (DEAT) classes at the College. The work will be showcased at the International 2015 SIGGRAPH (Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques) conference in California from August 9-13.

PCC, Caswell Family Medical to share Get Fit prize

The Get Fit Dan River’s wellness challenge resulted in a gain for Piedmont Community College (PCC) and the Caswell Family Medical Center. The two organizations shared the $5,000 prize for the Caswell County team’s win in the Get Fit Challenge’s weight loss competition.

PCC receives $50,000 gift to endow Jacqueline Hall Moore scholarships

The Jacqueline Hall Moore Student Ambassador endowment in the amount of $40,000 will establish an award to be presented to a student who has been selected to serve as a PCC Ambassador, offering public relations support and assisting with College events and functions. The Jacqueline Hall Moore Student Incentive Endowment in the amount of $10,000 will fully support one student while providing additional funds for a second student each year.
