PCC continuing education students awarded scholarships from State Employees Credit Union

SECU scholarships are designed to help meet the needs of North Carolina’s unemployed and underemployed citizens by providing short-term job training for new careers or retraining. Funds are available for Phlebotomy Technician, Cardiovascular Technician, EMT, Certified Logistic Technician (CLT), Certified Production Technician (CPT), Advanced Manufacturing/Siemens Level I, HVAC Heating, and HVAC Air Conditioning.

Pacer Promise check presentation

PCC announces free tuition for Associate in Applied Science degree seekers beginning in fall 2020, funded by the Lonnie and Carol Poole Family Foundation

“This new PCC Pacer Promise program, to be launched in fall 2020, will offer free tuition plus $200 for textbooks to qualifying students. This is a commitment to our communities, and to our students, of $150,000 over the next three years from the Lonnie and Carol Poole Family Foundation," shared Piedmont Community College President Dr. Pamela G. Brianna Marie Wrenn Memorial Scholarship to assist future PCC students

Brianna was a PCC Foundation scholarship recipient, and planned to continue her studies to pursue a degree in Cosmetology when she was involved in a fatal car accident in the summer of 2018. As a tribute to her memory, this fund will award two $500 scholarships for the 2019-2020 academic year at Piedmont Community College.

Patricia Knott Horner Scholarship Endowment created for Homeschool students attending PCC

Longtime PCC supporter Billy Horner used his Required Minimum Distribution from tax deferred accounts (like a 401(k) or IRA) to create a scholarship endowment in honor of his wife Patricia. This gift created the first scholarship for homeschooled students to attend PCC, a fitting tribute to Patricia and her years of commitment to homeschool teaching.

Former Cosmetology Instructor remembered with scholarship at Piedmont Community College

For 25 years Leona Aldridge devoted her professional career to Piedmont Community College. During these years she took every opportunity to continue her education and share her knowledge with the students. Donations to the Leona Page Aldridge Scholarship fund are being accepted from former students and co-workers, as well as family and friends.

Upcoming fundraisers for the Gary Ray Davis Emergency Medical Services Scholarship to benefit Emergency Medical Service students at Piedmont Community College

Established in 2015, the Gary Ray Davis EMS scholarship was created to provide a financial opportunity for individuals interested in the Emergency Medical Services profession and pursuing a career in his/her community. The fundraising committee will hold two events - a golf tournament and a memorial ride - in an effort to raise additional funds and awareness.

Piedmont Community College Foundation announces scholarship opportunities for summer and fall students

The PCC Foundation will be accepting scholarship applications for summer and early fall scholarships opportunities from March 15 – April 15. A second round of awards will be available for fall funding closer to the start of the semester. Spring scholarship applications are also available later in the year.
