Workforce Center Open House and Resource Fair at PCC
Piedmont Community College (PCC) will host an open house and resource fair in the Workforce Center on the Caswell County Campus on Wednesday, October 21, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
This free open house will offer visitors the opportunity to learn about various community resources, visit with college recruiters, and meet local employers. Currently the list of vendors includes: Mount Olive University, NC A & T University, Averett University, Piedmont Community College, Caswell Family Medical Center, Piedmont Healthcare, and Ameristaff. In addition, TRiO counselors who can assist future students with college applications, will be on site.
“The overall objective of PCC’s Workforce Development office is to provide services to job seekers,” shares Nicole Dunevant, Dean, Workforce Development. “Our goal is to make the process of looking for employment or training opportunities easier in the Caswell County area. Lori Watlington, the new Associate Director of Workforce Development, will be housed on PCC’s Caswell County Campus for this reason. We have also partnered with the new Workforce Board in Caswell County in an effort to serve the community more fully.”
Employability classes will soon be offered at PCC and at the Gunn Memorial Library. Additional classes will be determined based on need.
The Workforce Center Open House and Resource Fair is sponsored by Piedmont Community College and the Northwest Piedmont Workforce Development Board. Light refreshments will be available.
