Medication Aide Training
Community College is offering the course, Medication Aide Training, on the
Caswell County Campus during the summer semester. The class schedule is Monday
and Tuesday, June 4, 5, and 11 and Wednesday, June 12, from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
each day. The instructor will be Cornelia Jay, R.N.
who successfully complete this course will be able to take the competency exam
and demonstrate skills necessary to qualify for listing on the North Carolina
Medication Aide Registry. Topics will include medication administration via the
oral, topical and instillation routes, medical asepsis, hand hygiene,
terminology, and legal implications.
student must be a high school/GED graduate and a certified Nursing Assistant I
to be eligible to enroll in this course. The registration fee is $65 and is
payable to Piedmont Community College by May 31. A textbook is required and
will be available for purchase from the College Bookstore.
