Piedmont Community College (PCC) will offer the HVAC-Air Conditioning training on January 13 through April 13. The class will meet 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday at PCC’s Caswell County Campus, located at 331 Piedmont Drive in Yanceyville.
The HVAC-Air Conditioning program focuses on the basic fundamentals of the HVAC industry with a particular focus on the certification exam. You will learn about:
• Common tools and equipment used by HVAC technicians
• Refrigeration
• HVAC electrical
• Residential air conditioning systems
• HVAC system design, sizing and layout
• Generally accepted installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting methods
Just think – for less than $300, you can gain HVAC skills that can be used for future employment!
In addition, you will prepare for the EPA certification exams by studying topics such as, small appliances, high-pressure systems and low-pressure systems. Upon completion, you should be able to demonstrate knowledge of refrigerants, be prepared for the EPA certification examinations, and obtain your refrigerant license.
The HVAC Technician training is being offered in two-parts. The first part addresses air conditioning. The second part will focus on heating and will be offered later this year.
