Interested in a healthcare program that will prepare you to become a Certified EKG Technician? Piedmont Community College (PCC) is offering the Cardiovascular Technician course September 4 – December 18 on the Person County Campus. This short-term training will be held Tuesday – Thursday, 1:15 – 4:15 p.m.
The Cardiovascular Technician program prepares for the Certified EKG Technician (CET) Exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Students learn the anatomy and physiology of the heart, including the electrical conduction system and how it affects heart function.
This course also covers the cardiac cycle, common artifacts, and cardiac terminology, how to prepare patients, properly place leads, as well as mount and run an EKG strip correctly.
Registration for the course is only $197 plus Electrocardiography for Healthcare Professionals, Fourth Edition textbook that can be purchased online through the PCC Bookstore at www.pccstore.com. The online practice exam and study guide combined with the national board exam costs are under $200.
