Piedmont Community College’s (PCC) most recent Nurse Aide I students completed their training with a 100% pass rate on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I Competency Examination. With their successful completion of this written and skills exam, these students will now be listed on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I Registry and can officially join the health care industry as a Nurse Aide I in our State.
The three recent classes included the following successful students:
Kaylee Bray, Kalli Brown, Kimberly Brown, Leslie Clack, Sarah Clay, Jordan Clayton, Danica Conner, Christopher Crabtree, LaTanya Dixon, Ayla Dunn, Lucretia Gibbs, Shanicia Graves, Rachel Hemric
Julie McKinney, RoShanon Owen, Alexis Perolini, Phyllis Poteat, Brianna Pulliam, Marcus Satterfield, Stephanie Sheppard, Shane Stephens, Shateka Thomas, Maha Ward, Breanna Warren, Josanta Whittle, and Ashante Worley.
PCC’s Nurse Aide I course consists of theory and a clinical experience in an assisted living or long-term care facility. The course offers classroom lecture, lab, and a clinical rotation. This program prepares students to provide personal care and perform basic nursing skills for the elderly and other adults. Employment opportunities include hospitals, doctor’s offices, and long-term care facilities.
Alisa Montgomery, Dean of Health Science and Human Services, said, “For those interested in getting started in healthcare, enrolling in PCC’s Nurse Aide program is a great first step as many other careers and healthcare programs require experience in the field as a prerequisite.”
