The Brianna Marie Wrenn Memorial Scholarship was established in the fall of 2018 as a tribute to the memory of Brianna Marie Wrenn of Caswell County. This fund will award two $500 scholarships for the 2019-2020 academic year at Piedmont Community College (PCC).

Brianna graduated from Bartlett Yancey High School in 2018 and enjoyed dance, camping, and outdoor activities. While attending Bartlett Yancey High School, Brianna studied Cosmetology through the Career and College Promise (CCP) program at Piedmont Community College.

As a senior in high school, she not only competed in, but also won first place in the Hair Color Contest at the 53rd Annual SkillsUSA North Carolina Leadership Skills Conference, and was named one of the College’s CCP Bright Stars in 2017-2018.

Brianna was a PCC Foundation scholarship recipient, and planned to continue her studies to pursue a degree in Cosmetology when she was involved in a fatal car accident in the summer of 2018.

Her parents, Keith and Laura Wrenn, along with her family and friends, created this scholarship in Brianna’s honor. Her family hopes that this scholarship will honor the academic integrity of their daughter and encourage its recipients to display the same.

“Brianna was such a giving person. She always saw the good in everyone. She had the biggest heart of any individual I know!!, shares Brianna’s mom Laura. “She could light up any room with her smile and laughter. We know this is something she would have done herself, always wanting to help others. It is a great honor to be able to keep her memory alive through this scholarship.”

One of the scholarships will be awarded to a student pursuing a degree in Cosmetology at PCC. In addition, current Bartlett Yancey High School seniors and previous graduates will be considered first for these special awards.

Scholarship applications are currently being accepted from High School and Homeschool seniors by the PCC Foundation through March 29.
