The Piedmont Community College (PCC) Foundation opened its first round of scholarship awards on Friday, March 1, for the 2019-2020 academic year. The Foundation will be accepting applications from high school and home school seniors only in this round, which will remain open through Friday, March 29.

The PCC Foundation offers multiple scholarship opportunities throughout the year with the financial support of local businesses and individuals, College employees, and civic organizations.

During this round, a PCC Board of Trustees’ Scholarship will also be awarded to a graduating high school senior with the highest grade point average who will also be attending PCC. To qualify for this $1,500 award, the student must apply during this March scholarship application period.

Additional scholarship awards will be available to all PCC students prior to each semester, with the next application round coming up in April.

“We are so fortunate to live in a generous and supportive community that believes in the power of education,” says Allison Satterfield, Executive Director of the PCC Foundation. “Each year, our community partners, employees, and friends, step up to ensure that financial burdens do not interfere with the opportunity to gain an education at PCC. At the PCC Foundation, we are honored to connect these financial gifts to students who deserve and need them most.”

More than 100 scholarships are available each year through the PCC Foundation. Applications are reviewed by an external committee comprised of members of the PCC Foundation Board of Directors, who carefully match qualified applicants to scholarship opportunities. Interested students need only submit one application to be considered for all available scholarships.

The PCC Foundation serves students, faculty, and staff at the College in the form of student scholarships, mini-grants for innovative initiatives, employee recognition and development opportunities, and other special projects as needed. For more information about the PCC Foundation’s Scholarship program, or to learn more about how to contribute, please contact Allison Satterfield at (336) 322-2102.
