Piedmont Community College (PCC) welcomes Spanish instructor, Leigh Miller to the College team. With the addition of Miller, PCC will be able to offer three Spanish classes during the Spring semester, beginning January 7.

Miller attended Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia, majoring in Spanish and history. She continued her education at West Virginia University in Morgantown where she earned her Master of Arts in foreign language. While earning her MA, Miller taught various English as a Second Language (ESL) classes and served as the director of residential life for ESL students.

Previously teaching at Alamance and Rockingham community colleges since 2003, Miller is excited to share her knowledge and love of Spanish with students enrolled at both the Person and Caswell County campuses.

The Spring Spanish courses include:
• Elementary Spanish I: Monday/Wednesday, 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. on the Person County Campus
• Elementary Spanish I: Monday/Wednesday, 1:45 – 3 p.m. on the Caswell County Campus
• Elementary Spanish II: Monday/Wednesday, 10:55 a.m. – 12:10 p.m. on both campuses using PCC’s Interactive Television (ITV) technology

The ITV technology allows the students on both campuses to enroll in the same course with the same instructor. Students in both classrooms have the opportunity to participate in an equal manner and the instructor has the ability to communicate with each classroom in real time.

To enroll in the Spanish I or II courses available this Spring, call (336) 322-2159 or stop by either campus. PCC will be open until 6:30 p.m. on January 2 and 3 and until 4 p.m. on January 4. Classes begin January 7. For additional Spring schedule information, visit www.piedmontcc.edu/schedule.
