Piedmont Community College (PCC) offers over 30 curriculum programs, as well as short-term training, free small business seminars, one-day training sessions, personal growth classes, and adult basic skills programs.
In January, the following short-term courses are available to students:
Free Orientation to Outcomes (O2O) and other basic skills courses
The O2O course will begin on January 2 and is required for new Adult Basic Skills students (or those returning to the program after a 90 day absence) with the interest of improving their reading, writing, math, and computer literacy skills.

English Language Acquisition (formerly ESL)
Need to learn English as a second language? Necesitas aprender inglés como Segundo idioma? PCC offers a hybrid course that begins on January 2. A face-to-face session begins January 7 and an online version is also available 24/7. Call (336) 322-2155 in Person County and (336) 694-8057 in Caswell County.
Advanced Manufacturing and Automation Training
Beginning on January 7, PCC will offer a short-term Advanced Manufacturing and Automation program that focuses on the integration of mechanical, electrical (electronics), fluid power (hydraulics or pneumatics), and computer technologies to control machine movements in advanced manufacturing companies. Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) and Forklift Training
CLT training provides two national credentials: Certified Logistics Associate and a mid-level Certified Logistics Technician. These certifications are nationally validated skills standards which prepare individuals for front-line jobs in material handling, manufacturing factories, warehouses, distribution centers, and transportation. HVAC Air Conditioning
Gain the skills necessary to become employed as an HVAC Technician! Students will interact with operating systems and construction materials for hands-on learning in this class beginning January 15 at PCC’s Workforce Training Center in Roxboro. Call Jeanette at (336) 322-2156 to learn more.
Truck Driver Training
PCC’s Truck Driver Training is held in Person County and consists of extensive classroom, range, and behind-the-wheel instruction to prepare students for the Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) skills examination. Free Online Seminar – How to Find the Right Product to Sell Online
In this fast paced class, Nick Hawks will teach participants the secrets to sourcing merchandise to sell online in many different ways. This is an online seminar on January 24. Visit www.piedmontcc.edu/sbc and click the seminar to register online.
Online Microsoft Word and Excel
Beginning January 30, PCC will offer introduction to and intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel classes that are available online 24/7. To learn more, call Velma at (336) 599-0032.
National Career Readiness Certificate Online

Free Job Seeking Courses
Courses such as Employablility Skills for Career Pathways, Computer Skills for Job Search, Computer Literacy for Gaining Employment, Job Search, Working Smart Soft Skills, and Mission Employment Lab are all free and available at PCC’s Workforce Training Center or the Caswell County Campus.
