Caswell County, NC – Caswell County officials announced on December 5 that mesur.io is locating its Corporate Headquarters in the Town of Yanceyville, the county seat. The company plans to create more than two dozen jobs over the next few years generating an economic impact in excess of $1.5 million.
Mesur.io is positively impacting worldwide environmental resource usage. From germination to consumption, there are numerous data points available for people to use and to learn from. The company helps individuals and organizations build communities capable of ingesting this information at each stage of their process to help optimize resource usage by enabling better decision making with data.
“We are so excited to work with mesur.io to advance the agriculture opportunities in our rural region,” said Cori Lindsay, Director, Economic Development and Small Business. “We believe the company will be a great fit in Caswell County and are looking forward to being a part of the technology advances and job creation they are bringing to the region.”
The two year old company makes data platforms for people who grow things in the Earth. The Earthstream Platform combines real-time, localized data with machine learning to improve environmental resource management. The goal of mesur.io is to make information easy to use for everyone and to encourage best practices that are good for business and for the environment.
“Being raised in rural NC I am extremely pleased to be able to not only locate our growing business in Caswell County but to be able to directly impact agriculture as it is a foundation resource for the region,” said Mike Prorock, Founder and CTO of mesur.io, “We are very excited by the passion we have seen by Caswell County and look forward to having mesur.io near the center of growth for ag technology in the region.”
Mesur.io will be an anchor tenant at the new downtown co-working space located on the Square in Yanceyville. Federal, state, and local officials along with community members attended the December 5 announcement, held at Honey Bee Hills Farm, a local farm using the mesur.io technology.
The attendees included members of various NC state agencies that spent the day in Caswell County as a part of Governor Cooper’s Hometown Strong initiative. These agency representatives sat down earlier in the day with local leaders and elected officials to discuss various topics including education, health and wellness, and economic development. The Hometown Strong initiative partners with local leaders to identify templates of success that will improve education, health, and income of citizens so that everyone can live a life of purpose and abundance.
“Caswell County is a great example of a community working to enhance their rural assets. The discussions today and mesur.io’s new presence will help to catalyze positive change in their community,” said Kenny Flowers, Assistant Secretary of Rural Development at NC Department of Commerce.
Partners that helped with this project include: Caswell County, the Town of Yanceyville, Piedmont Community College, the Golden Leaf Foundation, the Economic Development Partnership of NC, The Launch Place, and the NC Department of Commerce.
