Piedmont Community College (PCC) will offer the Advanced Manufacturing and Automation program beginning January 7, 2019. Classes will meet 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays at PCC’s Person County Campus.
The Advanced Manufacturing and Automation program focuses on the integration of mechanical, electrical (electronics), fluid power (hydraulics or pneumatics) and computer technologies to control machine movements in advanced manufacturing companies. Studies begin with courses in:
• Mechanics
• Sensors
• Basic electronics
• Pneumatics
• Control logic
• Robot programming control
Success students will have the opportunity to take the Siemens Level 1 certification exam. In addition, those interested will also be eligible to obtain PCC college credit by examination.
Financial assistance may be available to qualified unemployed, underemployed, and economically distressed individuals. If you are in need of financial assistance, you must contact Workforce Development by December 14, 2018.
