Leia M. Gaskin-Sadiku Rollins, Coordinator for College High School Programs at Piedmont Community College (PCC), completed training with the National Career Development Association as a Career Development Facilitator.

The Facilitating Career Development Training Program provides individuals with relevant skills and knowledge to assist others in planning careers and obtaining meaningful work.

Leia M. Gaskin-Sadiku Rollins, Coordinator for College High School Programs at Piedmont Community College (PCC), completed training with the National Career Development Association as a Career Development Facilitator.“This program will allow me to better serve students in Person and Caswell County when it comes to assessment and career pursuits,” comments Rollins.

Currently, Rollins works directly with high school students interested in earning tuition-free college credit through PCC’s Career and College Promise (CCP) program.

“More and more high school students are taking advantage of the Career and College Promise program at PCC. With no tuition costs, this program allows families to save money while the student earns college credits.”

Through the CCP program, students have the option to select a College Transfer Pathway and/or a Career Technical Education Pathway. Credits earned will transfer to two and four year institutions, allowing students to get a head start while still in high school. To learn more about the Career and College Promise program at PCC, visit www.piedmontcc.edu/ccp.

Another tool available to Rollins and the community is “Career Coach”. This is a free software found on PCC’s website to help users discover programs of study, as well as in-demand careers and education, based on their interests and talents. To take a career assessment or to browse local career opportunities and matching programs of study, visit www.piedmontcc.edu and click the “Career Coach” block.

To speak directly with Rollins about opportunities for current or upcoming high school students, contact her at (336) 322-2273 or Leia.Rollins@piedmontcc.edu.
