Piedmont Community College will offer the Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) training beginning with Orientation to CLT on July 30 – August 8. This class will meet 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at PCC’s Workforce Training Center located at 303 S. Morgan Street in Roxboro. This training leads to a national credential through the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC).

Walmart Grocery Distribution Center and MSSC have collaborated to employ applicants who have secured a foundational-level MSSC Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) certification or mid-level technical MSSC Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) certification.

The full Certified Logistics Technician training will be held August 13 – September 11. This class will meet from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Mondays – Thursdays on PCC’s Person County Campus.

Attendance in the Orientation to CLT is required if you are planning to enroll in the Certified Logistics Technician training and requesting financial assistance.

This certification provides you with the mid-level practical knowledge needed to understand the world of supply chain logistics and related core proficiencies, including:
• Product receiving
• Product storage
• Order processing
• Packaging and shipment
• Inventory control
• Safe handling of hazardous materials
• Evaluation of transportation modes
• Customs
• Dispatch and tracking operations

The CLT training provides two credentials: Certified Logistics Associate and a mid-level Certified Logistics Technician. These certificates meet the national skills demand which prepares you for frontline material handling work in factories, warehouses, distribution centers and transporters.
