Piedmont Community College (PCC) will offer a course in HVAC-Heating beginning with a free orientation course in mid-August and the full training beginning in early September.
The free Orientation to HVAC course will be held on August 14-22, meeting Mondays-Wednesdays from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Participants will receive training in job seeking essentials needed to provide marketable skills for HVAC technicians in the heating and air conditioning field. Students will also have an opportunity to earn their NC Career Readiness Certificate (CRC).
The orientation course is provided at no cost to those who are not working and looking for employment. Attendance in the orientation is required for anyone seeking financial assistance for the full HVAC-Heating course.
The full HVAC-Heating training course will be held September 4 – November 27 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
The HVAC-Heating program focuses on the basic fundamentals of the HVAC industry with a particular focus on the certification exam. Participants will learn about common tools and equipment used by HVAC technicians, HVAC electrical and system design, sizing and layout, generally accepted installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting methods.
PCC’s HVAC Technician training is offered in two-sessions
• Heating in September
• Air Conditioning in January
