Piedmont Community College (PCC) will offer the Certified Production Technician (CPT) training beginning with Orientation to CPT on July 9 – July 23. This free class will meet 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at PCC’s Workforce Training Center located at 303 S. Morgan Street in Roxboro.
Participants will receive training in basic computer skills and have an opportunity to earn their NC Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) during the free orientation.
The full Certified Production Technician training will be held July 25 – Sept. 19. This class will meet from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays.
The Certified Production Technician training offers an industry-recognized credential designed by the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council. The course offers certificates in the following areas:
• Safety Awareness
• Manufacturing Processes
• Quality Practices
• Maintenance Awareness
Successful students gain skills in manufacturing processes and are prepared for employment in entry-level positions in the manufacturing field.
Attendance in the Orientation course is required for anyone planning to request financial assistance for the full Certified Production Technician training. This orientation class is provided at no cost to those who are unemployed and looking for a job.
