In response to a nationwide truck driver shortage, Piedmont Community College (PCC) has partnered with TransTech, Inc. to offer a five-week Truck Driver Training – CDL Class A course. The program begins with a free three-day per week orientation class on July 9-18.

With PCC’s full CDL Class A training, you can be on your way to a new career that currently offers abundant job openings locally and across the nation. Just think – only five-weeks to a new, good paying career!

PCC’s truck driver training program consists of extensive classroom, range, and behind-the-wheel instruction to prepare students for the Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) skills examination. This test will be provided and administered at the completion of the course. Students will also earn their OSHA Forklift certification.

Those interested in financial assistance for the full five-week training are required to attend the orientation course that will be held on July 9-18 on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. This free orientation will take place at PCC’s Workforce Training Center, 303 S. Morgan Street in Roxboro.

The full Truck Driver Training CDL Class A course will be held August 21 – September 21, 2018. Most class meetings will be Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and also include required evening driving times.

For additional information, visit www.piedmontcc.edu/truck or call (336) 599-0032. Space is limited so save your seat in PCC’s new Truck Driver Training CDL Class A today! Registration and payment of the fee ($3,687.25) is required by August 15. This course is scheduled to repeat approximately every five to six weeks.
