Walmart Grocery Distribution Center and Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) have collaborated to employ applicants who secure a mid-level technical MSSC Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) certification. This training is available at Piedmont Community College (PCC) this spring.
Free Orientation
Enroll in PCC’s free Orientation to Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) training held April 9 – 23. This class will meet 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at the College’s Workforce Training Center located at 303 S. Morgan Street in Roxboro. This training leads to a national credential through the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council and is required for those requesting financial aid for the full training.
Full Training
The full Certified Logistics Technician training will be held April 30 – June 7. This class will meet from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on Mondays – Thursdays at the Workforce Training Center. Attendance in the Orientation to CLT is required if you are planning to request financial assistance for the full training.
About Certified Logistics Technician Training
The CLT certification provides you with the mid-level practical knowledge needed to understand the world of supply chain logistics and related core proficiencies, including product receiving, product storage, order processing, packaging and shipment, inventory control, safe handling of hazardous materials, evaluation of transportation modes, customs, and dispatch and tracking operations.
Those completing the class successfully will earn two credentials: Certified Logistics Associate and a mid-level Certified Logistics Technician. These certificates meet the national skills demand which prepares you for frontline material handling work in factories, warehouses, distribution centers and transporters.
