Piedmont Community College (PCC) will offer Phlebotomy Technician training on March 6 – May 12 on the Person County Campus, followed by on-site clinical training. This class will meet 9 a.m. – 2:50 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 9 a.m. – 12:50 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Phlebotomy is the practice of drawing blood from patients and taking the blood specimens to the laboratory to prepare for testing. As a phlebotomy technician, you are an important member of the clinical laboratory team. New diagnostic techniques, clinical laboratory technology, and automated instruments have greatly increased the volume of, and demand for, medical laboratory testing.
For less than $300 you can earn a Phlebotomy Technician certificate and be working in the medical field as a phlebotomist in no time! In addition, phlebotomy is often an excellent stepping-stone to other careers in health care, such as medical assisting and lab technician.
To register for this short-term training opportunity contact the Workforce Development Team at (336) 322-2156 or (336) 599-4620.
