Get Phlebotomy Technician training at Piedmont Community College (PCC) beginning January 9. Phlebotomy, the practice of drawing blood from patients and taking the blood specimens to the laboratory to prepare for testing, is often an excellent stepping-stone to other careers in healthcare, such as medical assisting and lab technician.
PCC’s newest Phlebotomy Technician training class will be held 9 a.m. – 2:50 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays (with a lunch break) and 9 a.m. – 12:50 p.m. in Wednesdays on the College’s Person County Campus through May 11.
Phlebotomy Technicians are an important member of the clinical laboratory team. New diagnostic techniques, clinical laboratory technology, and automated instruments have greatly increased the volume of, and demand for, medical laboratory testing.
