Piedmont Community College’s (PCC) Nurse Aide curriculum program prepares individuals to work under the supervision of licensed health care professionals in performing nursing care and services for person of all ages.

Course work emphasizes growth and development throughout the life span, personal care, vital signs, communication, nutrition, medical asepsis, therapeutic activities, accident and fire safety, household environment and equipment management; family resources and services; and employment skills.

Students studying this program with instructor Kimberly Tingen – Katlyn Brogden, Sydni Clayton, Courtney Connors, Kayla Epps, Lisa Jackola, Teresita Jones, Autumn Slack, Erica Thorpe, Carmesha Tuck, and Donella Wade – completed the course and demonstrated a 100% pass rate on the State exam.

Nurse Aide is offered at PCC through the curriculum and continuing education programs and prepares students for the opportunity to be listed in the Nurse Aide I registry and to gain employment at home health agencies, hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, extended care facilities, and doctors’ offices.
