Piedmont Community College (PCC) will offer the Working Smart training on Sept. 5 – 28. This course will meet 1 – 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at PCC’s Workforce Training Center located at 303 S. Morgan Street in Roxboro.
Working Smart is a North Carolina soft-skills program developed by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Workforce Developmental Partners. It is designed to provide job-seekers the work and life skills that enhance employee productivity. Employers are looking for candidates who have the “soft-skills” that lead to success in the following ways: communication, problem solving skills, time management, accountability, and more.
Upon completion, students will possess the employability skills most important to employers. In addition, successful participants will receive a certificate from Charlotte Works. This credential validates the skills taught in the program and gives students the competitive edge in future job opportunities.
To enroll in the Working Smart training or for more information, contact PCC’s Workforce Development Team at (336) 322-2156 or the Workforce Training Center at (336) 599-4620. Financial assistance is available to qualified unemployed, underemployed, and economically distressed individuals.
