Piedmont Community College (PCC) will host a Welcome Weekend event for new students on Saturday, August 5 on both the Person and Caswell County campuses from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
This event will be filled with important activities and sessions designed to familiarize new students with campus, meet new classmates, and get a head start on being successful in their first semester.
“All new students are expected to attend the 2017 Welcome Weekend! It is a great opportunity to meet people including other new and returning students, as well as key faculty and staff members who will be helpful on the students’ educational journey while at PCC,” commented Leia Gaskin-Sadiku, PCC’s Student Recruiter/Enrollment Specialist.
Sessions will include valuable information on College services including the Learning Resources Centers, Academic Support Center, and tutoring options. New students will also learn about financial aid opportunities, disabilities services, and technology at PCC.
In addition, Welcome Weekend offers new PCC students and their families the opportunity to meet current students. During lunch, provided by the Student Government Association, student representatives will speak about their college experiences. Faculty will also be on hand to discuss various programs of study and answer questions.
“We look forward to getting to know our new students, introducing them to life as a PCC Pacer, and really preparing them for the upcoming semester,” shared Gaskin-Sadiku. “It is even more exciting because we are holding this event on both campuses and encouraging the students to gain awareness of the facilities, resources, and people at Piedmont Community College.”
