Do you need to your computer skills in order to meet the demands of today’s workforce? Piedmont Community College (PCC) will offer a course called Computer Literacy for Gaining Employment on the Caswell County Campus on July 6 – August 17, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Whether you are new to computing or have some experience, this course will help you develop a fundamental understanding of using computers. During the Computer Literacy for Gaining Employment course, you will:
• Learn the essential skills to begin computing with confidence
• Gain Information and Computer Technology (ICT) skills and concepts
• Learn how to use the Internet for job search strategies
• Understand the impact of social networking on job search strategies
The course content features screen shots and simulations from Windows 8 and Microsoft Office 2013 to illustrate and provide hands-on examples. These newly acquired skills can help you be more productive at work, stay safe online, use technology to complement your lifestyle, and consider careers where you can put your skills to work.
Successful students will also build their resume by earning an official Microsoft Digital Literacy Certification.
