Piedmont Community College’s (PCC) Board of Trustees has invited six finalists to interview to serve as the next president of the college. While on campus, the finalists will interview with the trustees, meet with faculty and staff during candidate forums, and enjoy a tour of the facility.

The six finalists are:
Dr. Doris W. Carver, Roxboro, North Carolina
Carver is the Vice President of Continuing Education at Piedmont Community College and has served in various leadership roles at the college since 1999. Carver earned her Ph.D. in Business Administration from Trident University (California), a Master of Business Administration from Averett University in Virginia, and a B.S. in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Dr. Quentin R. Johnson, Mooresville, North Carolina
Currently serving as Vice President for Student Support Services at Guilford Technical Community College, Johnson received his Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. He also holds a Master of Arts in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and a B.S. in Music Education/Performance from Defiance College, also in Ohio. Johnson previously served as Provost at Wilberforce University in Ohio.

Dr. Robert E. Lowdermilk, Reidsville, North Carolina
Lowdermilk has been Vice President for Student Development at Rockingham Community College since 2007. His previous experience includes financial advisor and, in addition to other college leadership positions, President of a two-year liberal arts college in Mississippi. Dr. Lowdermilk earned an A.B. in political science from Guilford College, a Master’s of Divinity from Duke University, and a Doctor of Ministry from the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (North Carolina).

Dr. Matthew R. Meyer, Cary, North Carolina
Currently the Associate Vice President of Education Innovations at the North Carolina Community College System, Meyer also is the co-founder and Vice President of the Workforce Credentials Coalition. He earned his Ph.D. in Community College Leadership from Old Dominion University in Virginia. Meyer also holds a Master of Science in Bioengineering from Clemson University in South Carolina and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton (Ohio).

Dr. Pamela G. Senegal, Durham, North Carolina
With a Ph.D. in Education from North Carolina State University, Senegal is currently the Vice President of Economic and Community Development at Central Carolina Community College. She previously held multiple leadership roles at Durham Technical Community College. Senegal earned a Master of Arts in Public Administration and a bachelor’s degree in both political science and Spanish from North Carolina State University.

Dr. Alan H. Stephenson, Flat Rock, North Carolina
Stephenson, currently the Vice President for Instruction at Blue Ridge Community College, holds a Ph.D. in Physiology from The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University (North Carolina). He has also been in leadership roles at Edgecombe Community College. In addition to his doctoral degree, Stephenson earned his Master of Science in Biochemistry and B.S. degree in Animal Science from Auburn University in Alabama.

The PCC Board of Trustees expects to select their top choice prior to the June 12 State Board of Community Colleges meeting. It is the Board’s desire to announce the fifth President of Piedmont Community College in June 2017 with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2017.
