Piedmont Community College (PCC) will offer Certified Production Technician (CPT) training beginning with Orientation to CPT on May 15 – May 30. This free class will meet 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Mondays through Wednesdays at PCC’s Workforce Training Center located at 303 S. Morgan Street in Roxboro.
Participants will receive training in basic computer skills and have an opportunity to earn their NC Career Readiness Certificate (CRC). Attending the free orientation will also inform the student about career opportunities as a Certified Production Technician. This free orientation is required for anyone planning to enroll in the full Certified Production Technician training and requesting financial assistance.
The full Certified Production Technician training course will be held June 7 – August 2. This class will meet from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays and offers an industry-recognized credential designed by the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC).
The course also offers certificates in the following areas: Safety Awareness, Manufacturing Processes, Quality Practices, and Maintenance Awareness. Successful students gain skills in manufacturing processes and are prepared for employment in entry-level positions in the manufacturing field.
