Every year since 1963, the Small Business Administration takes the opportunity to highlight the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs, small business owners, and others from across the nation through National Small Business Week, April 30 – May 6, 2017.

This year, Piedmont Community College’s (PCC) Small Business Center and the Caswell Creators Network celebrated National Small Business Week with a viewing of “The Founder” movie.

The event was attend by nearly twenty community members and entrepreneurs from both Caswell and Person counties. Hosted at the Milton Tap and Dye, attendees networked, viewed the movie based on the founding of the McDonalds franchise, and participated in a facilitated discussion about lessons learned from the story of the McDonald’s brothers and Ray Kroc.

“It was a fun event and an excellent conversation about the McDonald’s story”, commented Nikki Bettis, owner of Busy Bee Coffee Company, a new start-up company that will be opening in Yanceyville.

The Caswell Creators Network is a group of like-minded entrepreneurs, freelancers, small business owners, and creators trying to help build the entrepreneur ecosystem in Caswell County. They meet monthly at various locations throughout the region. For more information, you can find them on Facebook by searching Caswell Creators Network.

Piedmont Community College’s Small Business Center hosts numerous events and training seminars throughout the year and provides one-on-one business counseling to aspiring entrepreneurs and established business owners.
