Piedmont Community College’s (PCC) Business Development and Entrepreneurship Center (BDEC) will offer a “Hand Built Functional Pottery” course on Tuesday morning from April 25 – May 30. This course will be held from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Piedmont Community College Learning Studio at the Kirby Cultural Arts Complex (217 North Main Street in Roxboro).
Students will create a variety of forms including goblets, dinnerware, and cookware. Each person is encouraged to work at their own level while acquiring new skills and techniques. Classes will begin with a demonstration followed by time for students to practice, explore, and create. Beginners are welcome!
The “Hand Built Functional Pottery” course is $150 and includes up to 25 pounds of clay, the use of studio glazes, and the firing of your work. The instructor’s tools will be available for use during class, however, pottery tools kits may also be purchases at the PCC Bookstore on the Person County Campus, as well.
