Piedmont Community College (PCC) will offer a Medication Aide course on the Caswell County Campus. The course will be held April 18 – May 1, Mondays through Thursdays from 1 – 4:00 p.m. each day.
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to take the competency exam and demonstrate skills necessary to qualify for listing on the North Carolina Medication Aide Registry. Topics will include medication administration via the oral, topical and instillation routes, medical asepsis, hand hygiene, terminology, and legal implications.
To participate, a student must be a high school or high school equivalency graduate and be listed on the Nurse Aide I Registry. A textbook is required and will be available for purchase on the first day of class.
