The Piedmont Community College (PCC) Mission Employment lab is now open 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays at PCC’s Workforce Training Center located at 303 South Morgan Street in Roxboro.
This lab is designed to help individuals:
• Develop a resume
• Complete online job applications
• Create an email account
• Perform online job searches
• Earn a NC Career Readiness Certificate
Job seekers will also receive one-on-one assistance with accessing the NCWorks website. When using the lab, students will have free access to computers, copiers, printers, and a fax machine to help with their job search.
Students can also enroll in Mission Employment to earn a NC Career Readiness Certificate (CRC). To earn a CRC, individuals take WorkKeys® assessments in three major areas: Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information, and Locating Information. An individual’s test performance determines whether a bronze, silver, or gold certificate is earned. The higher the certificate level earned, the more jobs the recipient is qualified to perform.
KeyTrain®, an internet-based curriculum that helps individuals to achieve higher levels in Career Readiness, is available for student use in the Mission Employment lab, as well. KeyTrain® helps prepare individuals to take WorkKeys® assessments by offering lessons, pre- and post-tests to measure an individual’s skill level, and target areas in need of improvement.
To attend the Mission Employment lab or for more information, contact PCC’s Workforce Development Team at (336) 322-2156 or the Workforce Training Center at (336) 599-4620.
