Piedmont Community College (PCC) will offer the Mechatronics Siemens Level I training beginning with Orientation to Siemens Level I on January 9 – 18. This class will meet 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays at PCC’s Workforce Training Center located at 303 South Morgan Street in Roxboro.
Participants will receive training in job seeking essentials needed to provide marketable skills for manufacturing technicians in the Mechatronics field and have an opportunity to earn their NC Career Readiness Certificate (CRC).
The full Mechatronics Siemens Level I training will be held January 23 – April 11. This class will meet from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays with a lunch break from 12-12:30 p.m. Attendance in the Orientation to Siemens Level I is required for anyone planning to enroll in the Siemens Level I Mechatronics training and requesting financial assistance. This class is provided at no cost to those who are not working and looking for employment.
The Mechatronics program focuses on the integration of mechanical, electrical (electronics), fluid power (hydraulics or pneumatics), and computer technologies to control machine movements. The students’ studies begin with courses in mechanics, sensors, basic electronics, pneumatics, control logic, and robot programming control.
Successful completers of the course will have fulfilled all the technical coursework necessary to take the Siemens Level I certification exam and be eligible to obtain college credit by examination.
