PCC’s Business Development and Entrepreneurship Center (BDEC) will host a free three-part social media and marketing strategies seminar series, with presenter Nick Hawks, to help existing and future business owners.
The free seminars will be held October 3, 10, and 17 from 6-9 p.m. at the BDEC located at 105 North Main Street in Roxboro, NC. Participation is not required in all three seminars, however, you may overlook crucial marketing tactics when missing one or more classes!
These seminars are free but participants are encouraged to pre-register to ensure their seat by calling (336) 599-0032.
October 3 – Part 1: Starting Your Business on eBay: The Basics of Selling on eBay:A great seminar for the “beginner” or the entrepreneur wanting to make eBay a primary business tool. During this fast-paced session, you will learn best practices to use when setting up an account, listing items for sale, taking payments, and shipping.
Topics will include eBay appraisals and research, registering on eBay and starting a seller’s account, choosing formats and categories, writing descriptions that sell, submitting photos, feedback, starting up and using a PayPal account, shipping tips, and pricing philosophies that will make you an eBay Top Rated Seller.
Participants will also learn how to start, brand, and optimize an eBay store website, in addition to understanding email newsletters, traffic reports, and the markdown manager sales tool. Attend the free seminar and gain knowledge of eBay’s “Quick Store Tune-up” feature and “Manage My Store”, plus learn tips for search engine optimization (SEO) that will bring even more internet shoppers to your eBay Store via Google, Yahoo, and Bing search engines!!
October 10 – Part 2: Pinterest for Business:Looking for a free, powerful tool to quickly attract clients, market your small business, and grow your brand? In part 2 of Hawks’ presentation, participants will learn everything needed to know about harnessing the power of Pinterest.
Pinterest is an easy, visual way to get your product in front of an audience and drive traffic to your website or with the new “Buy It” pin you can sell directly from Pinterest. By the end of this free seminar, participants will be ready to create a compelling, dynamic Pinterest business presence that will drive sales, spark conversation, and attract loyal customers.

October 17 – Part 2: LinkedIn to Grow Your Small Business:Did you know that LinkedIn has surpassed Facebook as the preferred place for providing small business content? With over 380 million users, this powerful eCommerce tool cannot be ignored.
During this free seminar, you will learn how to create a compelling “Online Presence” that will attract customers. Also discover how to create a LinkedIn profile that stands out and positions you as an expert, expand your network, stay in-front of your audience, and build your personal plan to quickly get result.
