The full Certified Logistics Technician training will be held August 15 – September 7. This class will meet from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays with a lunch break from 12-12:30 p.m. Attendance in the Orientation to CLT is required for anyone planning to enroll in the Certified Logistics Technician training and requesting financial assistance. This class is provided at no cost to those who are not working and looking for employment.

The Certified Logistics Technician course teaches industry specific skills necessary to become a Certified Logistics Technician. Certified Logistics Technicians are responsible for the complete life cycle of a product, including gaining, delivery, internal distribution, and final disposal of resources. Students will apply critical thinking to solve warehouse and distribution situations and determine proper material handling techniques.

This certification provides students with the mid-level practical knowledge needed to understand the world of supply chain logistics and related core proficiencies, including product receiving, product storage, order processing, packaging and shipment, inventory control, safe handling of hazardous materials, evaluation of transportation modes, customs, and dispatch and tracking operations.

The CLT training provides two credentials: Certified Logistics Associate and a mid-level Certified Logistics Technician. These certificates meet the national skills demand which prepares individuals for frontline material handling work in factories, warehouses, distribution centers and transporters. There are local jobs available in logistics starting at $16/hr.

To enroll in the Certified Logistics Technician orientation and training or for more information, contact PCC’s Workforce Development Team at (336) 322-2156 or the Workforce Training Center at (336) 599-4620. Financial assistance is available to qualified unemployed, underemployed, and economically distressed individuals.
