Piedmont Community College’s Small Business Center will offer a free seminar “Financing Your Small Business,” on Tuesday, February 9 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Business Development and Entrepreneurship Center, 105 N. Main St., Roxboro. Presenter, Derek Williams

What are the 6 “Cs” for Business Credit? Financing continues to be a challenge for many small business owners. Questions range from, “Who will give me money for my business idea and what do they need from me?” to “How will this business make money and will it be enough to pay back a loan or attract an investor?” Get to the heart of business financing in this seminar that answers your questions. Explore the advantages and disadvantages of the different types of funding sources and how to choose the right one for your needs. Discover the keys to financing success.

Presenter Derek Williams is a program manager within the NC Rural Center’s Entrepreneurship division. Williams assists entrepreneurs seeking funding from the Microenterprise Loan Program and sits on an internal credit committee that assesses the viability of loan requests. He also coaches young adults and dislocated workers that have an interest in starting their own businesses. Williams graduated from Duke University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. He is a native of Durham and has a strong interest in marketing and business strategy.
