Piedmont Community College’s Small Business Center will offer a free seminar “Licenses, Recordkeeping and Tax Issues for Small Businesses,” on Tuesday, November 10th from 6-9 p.m. at the Business Development and Entrepreneurship Center, 105 N. Main St., Roxboro.

Many businesses require permits and licenses from local, county, state and even federal agencies. Federal and State tax requirements are not the only reason to keep good, up-to-date records in your business. While the last thing you want to do is have the IRS or State Department of Revenue hassling you, good recordkeeping habits will allow you to focus on generating revenue rather than worrying about catching up on your bookkeeping. Both new and existing business owners will benefit from this seminar.

The presenter, Ed Ormsby has been a small business developer and owner for over twenty years. He provides counseling and consulting services to small business owners. He is an accredited North Carolina Small Business Center Director (SBCN), Certified REAL, REAL Healthcare and Agri-REAL Entrepreneurial Instructor (NC REAL Enterprises), Certified Nonprofit Board Member Trainer (NC State University Institute for Nonprofits), and Certified Micro-Loan Intake Professional (NC Rural Economic Development Center). He is also the author of “Psst – – – – want to start a business?” an introduction to the processes of starting and sustaining a new business.

Although the seminar will be offered at no cost to participants, pre-registration is required by November 6. To register, call the BDEC at (336) 599-0032.
