Academic Calendar Update

2014-2015

 

The information below is an amendment to the Academic Calendar for this term due to College closings.   Instructors can also consider other options instead of the dates below to make up the missed classes.  Other options that instructors may use include requiring additional assignments in Blackboard, meeting at another time agreeable to students, and/or holding individual conferences.  Instructors will need to submit a Memo to their respective Deans in which they specifically indicate how time will be made up for each course missed because the college was closed.  This documentation is required for the FTE audit. 

 

 

Spring 2015             January 10, 2015 – May 15, 2015

 

Make-up Dates for Classes Missed because the College was Closed All Day

 

·         Tuesday, March 10 will be used as a make-up day for classes missed on Tuesday, February 17 because the College was closed all day due to inclement weather

 

·         Wednesday, March 11 will be used to make-up for classes missed on Wednesday, January 14 because the College was closed all day due to inclement weather

 

·         Thursday, March 12 will be used to make-up for classes missed on Thursday, February 19 because the College was closed all day due to inclement weather

 

·         Friday, March 13 will be used to make-up for classes missed on Friday, February 27 because the College was closed all day due to inclement weather

 

·         Saturday, March 7 will be used to make-up for classes missed on Wednesday, February 18 and/or February 26 because the college was closed all day due to inclement weather

 

·         Saturday, March 14 will be used to make up for classes missed on Saturday, February 28 because the College was closed all day due to inclement weather

 

Class Meetings Missed because of Delayed Openings/Early Closing

 

These will not have a specific designated alternate date but work missed may be made up by students using one of the aforementioned options (See above section for specific options.)  This includes classes missed on the following days: 

 

·         January 15 (8 am– 10 am); February 17 (4 pm– 10 pm); February 20 (8am – 10 am); and February 24 (8 am– 10 am  for Caswell  and 12 pm – 10 pm – Caswell and Person)

 

 

Additional Information

 

Second Mini-mester classes will begin as scheduled on March 16

 

Spring Beak will be Friday, April 3 – Tuesday, April 7

 

Classes end Friday, May 15

 

Commencement Ceremony, Friday, May 22
