Piedmont Community College will soon begin a new section of its Certified Production Technician (CPT) training. Part One of the class will be held Feb. 3-12 and will meet Mondays through Thursdays. Classes will be held from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at PCC’s Workforce Training Center, 303 S. Morgan St., Roxboro. Individuals will be introduced to CPT concepts, receive training in basic computer skills, and will have an opportunity to earn their North Carolina Career Readiness Certificate (CRC).
Part Two of the class will be held Feb. 16 – March 27. The class will meet from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays with a lunch break from 12-12:30 p.m. This segment of the class focuses on detailed CPT curriculum.
The CPT course provides training for national certifications in four areas: safety awareness, manufacturing processes, quality practices, and maintenance awareness. Upon successful completion of the class, students will enroll in a job search class that will provide opportunities for students to be referred to local industries that have agreed to give priority status to graduates of the program.
