The starting date has been changed for two new cooking classes to be offered by Piedmont Community College (PCC). “Introduction to Baking and Pastries: Part 2,” will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, Nov. 3 – Dec. 17 from 1-4:30 p.m., and “The Art of Cooking: Part 2,” will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Nov. 4 – Dec. 18, from 1-4 p.m. at the Caswell County Senior Center, 649 Firetower Rd., Yanceyville. Nancy Gould will be the instructor.
The Baking and Pastries course will cover the basics such as ingredients, techniques, weights and measures, terminology, and formula calculations. Course topics will include cake decorating, yeast bread, rolls, and cheese cakes.
The Art of Cooking class course topics include: basic safety and sanitation; basic knife skills, appetizers, and explore different ethnic foods. Come learn, practice and improve your cooking skills!
Class fee for each class is $125. Financial assistance is available to qualified students. Fees must be paid by Monday, Nov. 3. Register by calling Kathleen Kersey at (336) 694-8064.
